72 of our 75 are Lao and Cambodian nationals.
Local people lead our programs: those who speak the local language, know local history and culture,
and are actively invested in improving life and livelihoods at the local level. We build upon the leadership of well-trained, dynamic and motivated
local staff. Lao and Cambodian people are invested in the long-term well-being of their own communities. They understand the needs and priorities for
development, as well as the most effective strategies to achieve them. They too often, however, lack critical technical skills and resources. The linkage
of local leadership and international support is the most effective way to address long term capacity building as well as immediate development needs.
