Partnership, networking, and active coordination are very important elements of efficient and effective development work, yet few NGO, UN agencies, or donor projects are successful in this endeavor. In both VFI’s Land & Livelihoods and Protection and Empowerment of Women and Children projects in Laos, networking and coordination are essential to project success, and VFI has begun to take a lead role. In the indigenous land rights arena in northeast Cambodia, VFC is also a key player in developing and maintaining partnerships, a significant task in the face of private sector and government obstacles to pro-poor activities in the area. TAEC: Traditional Arts and Ethnology Center, a new cultural center dedicated to preserving and showcasing the cultural traditions of ethnic minorities from northern Laos
GAPE: Global Association for People and the Environment, an NGO that coordinates community development and conservation programs.
AZIZA Foundation: a grassroots NGO, is a home and learning center for impoverished Cambodia children. Aziza Cambodia is based in the VFI/VFC office in Phnom Penh.
