Miss Noy is 17 years old; she is the daughter of Mr Phan and Mrs Maly; their family is poor. They do farming for a living. When Noy is on school vacation, she has to work to earn some income.
By the end of harvest season, their farm produces less crops than every year due to drought; therefore money which is loaned for investment does not enough to return. One day, Miss Noy is out seeking bamboo shoots with her friends. On the way back home, they run into Ms Vanh who has been working in Thailand for many years; she comes back home for the first time after she left.
Vanh and Noy and her friends have a chitchat about her life working in Thailand. Vanh convinces them to work with her by selling dreams like ‘less work, more money’ and she will pay fees in advance. But they do not know what is hidden in her purpose.
